ALPHA™ WATER SAMPLERS: • Blue seals of durable, flexible, high-grade polyurethane resin with attached safety line • Foolproof 316 SS trip head for durability • Not suitable for chemical sampling • Kits include bottle, plastic carry case, 45-B10 messenger & 62-C15 line (100 ft.) • Single bottles & bottles with cases available • Horizontal or vertical orientations available. These popular and versatile bottles come in your choice of transparent acrylic or opaque PVC. PVC is more durable and less costly, but the acrylic allows you to view the bottle contents immediately. Alpha samplers are not suitable for chemical analysis of contents due to the potential for contamination (i.e. by mercury and phosphorus) by the materials in the sampler's construction. For chemical analysis, inquire about the Beta or suggested Kemmerer water samplers. This sampler requires a messenger and line (not included, except in kits) for operation. A thermometer can be mounted inside acrylic Alpha™ bottles.
	HORIZONTAL ALPHA WATER SAMPLERS: Intended for shallow or deep waters, these bottles are called horizontal because they descend, parallel to the bottom. They are pulled sideways just before closing by the operator. This ensures a representative water sample for that specific depth. They are ideal for sampling at the thermocline, at other stratification levels, or just above the bottom sediments. 	VERTICAL ALPHA WATER SAMPLERS: Larger bottles are especially good for collecting small plankton. The wide mouth collects a true water sample with no contamination from other water levels. During descent, the open mouth does not restrict water flow. This makes them particularly suitable for collecting plankton, floating sediments and for use where metallic ion avoidance is desirable. 	KEMMERER™ WATER SAMPLERS: All are available corrosion-resistant stainless steel, and the 1.2L size is also available in transparent acrylic plastic which allows viewing your sample before removing it. Seals are soft blue polyurethane (not autoclavable) and will leach mercury and potential other contaminants in trace amounts. Metal parts are 316 or 304 stainless steel except fasteners and plastic-coated cables of 18-8 steel. These types of Kemmerer samplers are not suitable for chemical analysis of contents due to the potential for contamination (i.e. by mercury and phosphorus) by the materials in the sampler's construction. For chemical analysis, inquire about the Beta or suggested Kemmerer water samplers. This sampler requires a messenger and line (not included, except in kits) for operation. A thermometer can be mounted inside the acrylic Kemmerer™ bottle (1200-C12 or 1200-C15). 	NON-METALLIC KEMMERER™ SAMPLERS: • All plastic construction • Clear acrylic or opaque PVC bottle body • PVC center shaft • No metal parts to touch your sample • Silicone seals for trace metal sampling • Large range of sizes - 1.2 to 8.2 L This series of Kemmerer bottles has no metal parts to contact your sample. Delrin fasteners and an O-ring replace the stainless steel garter spring in the All-Angle™ trip head. The bottle body can be either transparent acrylic, which allows you to view your sample before removal, or opaque PVC for greater durability. The all-plastic center shaft is made of plastic CPVC with a plastic delrin nut on its bottom. Designed for trace metal sampling due to silicone seals. (Polyurethane, although affordable and durable, is not suitable for trace metal sampling because it leaches mercury and other contaminants). Also may be used for organic sampling to concentrations of mg/L. When running metal, organic, or any other chemical analyses, it is best to run a blank on the sampler prior to use. The end seals mount like a tire on a hub and are easy to replace. The end seals should not be sealed, seated, or fully closed during storage. Although made of tough elastomers, they have a tendency to take a set during long periods of inactivity and stress. For this reason, store your Kemmerer with the seals slightly open and not touching the bottle body. This sampler requires a messenger and line (not included, except in kits) for operation. 	CALIBRATED LINE & WEIGHT: This 20 meter, braided, stretch-resistant line has a brass spring clip for easy attachment to samplers, secchi discs, plankton nets or sounding leads. 	LAMOTTE WATER SAMPLER (MODEL: JT-1) This one liter sampler of clear acrylic is furnished with a 20 meter calibrated line and a lead collar which assures rapid descent and minimal drift. A brass messenger triggers a release mechanism to seal the sample chamber with two fitted rubber plungers at the desired sampling depth. 	ECONOMY WATER SAMPLER: This basic water sampler has an impact-resistant, PVC body of 1.75 liters and soft rubber seals. It is designed for collecting water samples for chemical and biological analysis. The simple trip mechanism requires no messenger, simply jerk on the line and the sampler closes. 	LaMOTTE DISSOLVED OXYGEN WATER SAMPLER: This simplified water sampler features a unique, easy to remove 60 ml collecting bottle which is specifically designed to work directly with the LaMotte dissolved oxygen test kit, eliminating sample transfer into second collecting bottle. Sample overflows the collecting bottle 5 times to insure greater representation. Employing a calibrated line allows you to retrieve samples at controlled depths. 	LaMOTTE DISSOLVED OXYGEN / TEMPERATURE SAMPLER: Collects samples at specific depths. Ideal for collection of dissolved oxygen samples. When trip line is pulled, dissolved oxygen sample bottle will fill, overflow and flush more than three times to insure a representative sample. During retrieval, decreasing water pressure prevents exchange of air and water with sample. Excess water in sample chamber can be used for additional tests such as pH. Interior chamber accommodates an armored thermometer (not included) for accurate sample temperature readings. Accommodates the same sample bottle used in the LaMotte D.O. kit.
