HIP CHAIN:

Excellent for preliminary surveying, stakeout, distance verification, sampling grid layout, reconnaissance, timber cruising and mapping. Just tie the line to a tree or other object and set the meter to zero. As you walk, the meter measures and indicates the length of the line pulled out giving you the distance you have traveled. Your hands are free for other tasks. After use, simply break the line, reset the counter, and you are ready to measure again. Housing is highly visible, impact-resistant red box. Weight 450 g. Measures in meters and 1/10ths.

HIP CHAIN THREAD:

White thread. Strong yet biodegradable (disintegrates with sunlight). Length of 2.5 km per roll. Won't fluff when you pull it through the reel.

HAND TALLY COUNTERS:

0-9,999 counts, chrome plated finish, reset thumb screw. white numbers on black.

MULTIPLE UNIT TALLY COUNTERS (DENOMINATOR):

Each counting unit is four-digit and counts from 0-9,999. Black numbers on white background. Zero reset knob(s). Base plate is pre-drilled for mounting to work surface. Heavy-duty metal case with rubber pads to prevent movement on smooth surfaces. Constructed with hardened steel parts.

FOLDING RULES:

Wooden: Boxwood with bold red and black markings embedded in wood are protected by clear abrasive resistant coating. Riveted lock joints and brass plated end caps and strike plates are long wearing. Marked both sides.

Plastic: White plastic with etched black markings. 2 meters.

Fiberglass: Yellow fiberglass with etched black markings, weighs 140 grams. 2 meters.

MEASURING TAPE (STAINLESS STEEL):

A great measuring tape for those who work in and around water. All metal parts are stainless steel. A built-in shock absorber is used to protract the blade tip. Measures up to 25′. Markings are clear and distinct.

ESLON FIBERGLASS TAPE:

Open reeled. Metric. Provides the highest strength and the lowest elongation. PVC coating. Lightweight case is virtually shatter-proof. The special handle design makes fast work of reeling. Width 1/2 in., with folding metal end hook.

Refill tapes are also available.

NYLON CHAIN:

(Not Steel Core): To measure plots, claims and property lines. Light, strong and very durable in cold weather applications. Made of 1/8" diameter heavy-duty white braided nylon. Every meter is marked by a corrosion free wrap-around tag.

METER STICKS:

Aluminum: Aluminum, metric and standard. Graduated in 8ths to the inch on one edge with millimetres on the other edge. Back side of the stick provides metric conversion tables. Convenient hang hole at one end.

Plastic: Tough polystyrene plastic, white. Will not warp or change shape with ordinary use. Graduated in mm on one side and 1/16″ and metric on the other side. Graduations are on both edges. 8 x 25 mm x 1 m.

STAINLESS STEEL RULER:

30 cm (12″ long) x 3.2 cm (1.25″) wide. Graduated in sixteenths of an inch on one edge and millimetres on the other edge. Non-skid cork backing.

COMPASS, SUUNTO KB-14:

High precision compasses that are very easy to use in the field -- simply sight your target using the through-compass lens and read the displayed bearing to the nearest 1/2 degree (estimate to 1/4 degree). The KB-14 has a brushed aluminum case and is supplied with a neck lanyard and Skylon (leather-like) case. Dimensions are 37″ x 2″ x 9/16″.

Used to measure heights, slopes and vertical angles. Solid aluminum housing that resists rust and protects against impact. Jeweled bearing assembly supports the scale card assuring long-lasting accurate operation. Damping liquid surrounds scale card, assuring smooth, accurate and quick readings. Supplied with lanyard. SPHERICAL DENSIOMETER

This tool is used to determine forest canopy coverage. It will measure forest over-story density from unobstructed sighting positions. It uses a spherical-shaped reflector mirror engraved with a cross-shaped grid of 24 quarter squares with delineates a plot overhead. Comes in a 3" x 3" x 1" wooden case. Comes complete with a leveling bubble for an accurate location. Comes in two models Concave or Convex .The readings from the Convex model represent a larger sample size than those from the Concave model.

STREAM (STAFF) GAUGES:

Measure water levels easily with a permanent, highly visible scale. Four inch wide, fiberglass gauges have bold, non-glare coated calibrations (meters, decimeters, centimeters). Stainless steel fasteners included for easy mounting. Imperial scale (feet, tenths and hundredths) also available.

METAL CALIPERS:

12 cm metal calipers with pouch.

PLASTIC CALIPERS:

150 mm (6″) x 0.1 mm graduations. Easier to read and use than metal calipers. Stand up to water and most chemicals.

PRECISION RAIN GAUGE:

This durable, clear acrylic rain gauge is 10″ long and tapered to fit a 6″ white plastic ground stake. Collection opening is 31 mm in diameter. Fasteners are also included for post or fence mounting. Measures rainfall 0.1″ to 5.5″ or 1.0 mm to 140 mm.

RAIN GAUGE:

The large 65 x 60 mm (2.5″ x 2.3″) opening and precision molded graduations on this wedge-shaped rain gauge permit measurement of 0.5 mm to 150 mm or 0.02″ to 6″ of rain. One-piece aluminum mounting bracket and fasteners are included for post or fence mounting.

ECONOMY RAIN GAUGE:

0-5″ or 0-127 mm dual scale. The gauge is made of weather resistant, heavy gauge plastic and uses a tapered spear end for ground placement or screws (not included) for post mounting.
